Colts still looking for first win of 2015
The Colts slide pushed to 7 straight losses with a 7-2 defeat to the hands of the East Hants Pengiuns.
East Hants tallied the only goals of the first period, with Paul Rekai, Cole MacDonnel and Mathew Shackell scoring in the first. The Pengiuns went into the break with a 3-0 lead with Shackell's goal coming at 19:59 of the 1st period.
The Colts came out with more life in the second scoring the next two by the midway point. Goal scorers were rookie Nathan Sheppard with his 10th of the season, and Greg Capstick with his 4th. The Penguins matched those two goals in the second half of the second period with two short handed markers, both by James Shapleigh. The Pengiuns took a 5-2 lead into the third.
The third period saw the Penguins Shaun McEachern score two power play goals to end the game by a score of 7-2.
The Colts were back in action Saturday night as they headed to Pictou to face the hometown Scotians.
