The Colts enjoyed a year end gathering at Wing n' It restaurant on Friday night and announced the team awards for the 2014/15 season.

The awards were as follows:

Top scorer - Josh Rector - Josh was the most consistent point getter this season with the Colts and contributed 17 goals and 27 assists to finish the season with 44 points in 30 games for a 1.46 points per game average finishing tied for 14th in the league scoring. Great season Josh and looking forward to next year and topping that 1.46 points per game average!

Rookie of the year - Brett Armstrong - A very tough decision for the Colts with as many as 7 strong rookies competing for this award. Ultimately the consistency and big minutes that Brett was able to play throughout the season helped win him this award. Congrats Brett!
Coaches award - Brandon Beaulieu - This aware is given to the player who shows a committment to the team, coaches and his fellow teammates. Always brings a positive attitude to the rink and brings his best to each practice and game. Congrats Brandon!
Leadership award - Josh Kalbhenn - The youngest captain in the NSJHL, Josh quickly showed his leadership in the Colts dressing room and on the ice. He is a team first guy but also leads by example by always playing with 100% effort, and never wavering whether up by 5 goals or down by 5 goals. Congrats Josh on a great 1st season with the Colts.

Most Valuable Player - Jonathan Prall - This was a tough decision, but after a slow start to the season Jonathan continued to better his game and became an integral part of the Colts success throughout the season. Outshot in many games, Jonathan made the key saves when they were needed and never gave less than 100% when in the net.
Over-age appreciation - It is with heavy hearts we say good-bye to Lee Gaetz & Kyle Morash as graduating over agers with the Colts. They will both be dearly missed next season as big minute defenseman that would always bring professionalism and effort to each game they played. Two outstanding young men who are moving onto the next chapters in their lives, but we still expect to see at every Colts home game!

Congratulations to all players who won team awards this season. Looking forward to a great 2015/16 season with a fantastic core of players returning.
