The Colts came our strong in game 3 versus the Valley Maple Leafs to pull within one game in best of seven quarter finals.

The Cole Harbour Colts had their backs against the wall heading into Game 3 versus the Valley Maple Leafs at the Dartmouth Sportsplex Saturday night.

The first period saw the Colts get into penatly trouble early, with the Leafs capitalizing to take an early 1-0 lead on a Peter Lister power play marker. The Colts then took advantage of their own power play to tie the game at 1-1 with captain Connor Carson scoring for the Colts. The teams ended the first period tied at 1.

The second period also saw the Leafs mark on the power play early, with Nathan Jardine scoring for the visitors. The Colts would again respond on the power play with Justin Hessian scoring on the edge of the crease to tie the game again. Carson then scored his second of the game to put the home team up by one, but the pesky Leafs scored late in the second, again on the power play, to knot the game at 3-3 heading into the final frame.

The Colts came out strong in the third, and eventually scored their 4th, with Jacob Tibert finishing a nice three way passing play from Rector and Hessian to put the Colts ahead. Joshua Rector then scored to build a two goal lead. The Leafs put on some sustained pressure, but Colts goalie Johnny Prall shut the door the rest of the way. Jacob Tibert scored his second of the game, into an empty net, to seal the win for the Colts and pull them back into the series.

Game 4 goes Tuesday night in Sackville, as ice time conflicts keep the nomadic Colts playing at alternate arena's. Puck drop is 7:30 PM. Don't miss the exciting action!
