Colts off to Fred Fox Division Finals!!

In what is sure to go down as one of the best NSJHL playoff matchups in recent years, the Colts overcame a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the rival Liverpool Privateers 4 games to 3 following a 4-2 victory in Game 7 of their Fred Fox Division semi-final.
In what is sure to go down as one of the best NSJHL playoff matchups in recent years, the Colts overcame a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the rival Liverpool Privateers 4 games to 3 following a 4-2 victory in Game 7 of their Fred Fox Division semi-final. Much like the postseason matchup between these two teams last year, the series was physical, intense and exciting, showing once again why this has become one of the best rivalries in the NSJHL.
After struggling against the Privateers all season, Liverpool won all five meetings, the Colts found themselves down two games to zero before picking up their first win in Game 3. Liverpool bounced back with a victory in Game 4, taking a 3 to 1 series lead and putting Cole Harbour on the brink of elimination. The Colts went into Game 5 with a huge mountain to climb, but showed heart and determination reminiscent of the Scotia Colts in the early 1980’s. A Game 5 win at the Gray Arena, a huge road win at Liverpool in Game 6 before taking Game 7 Sunday afternoon at Cole Harbour Place, the original home of Colts Nation, to advance to the 2nd round of the NSJHL Playoffs.
The team now moves on to face the East Hants Penguins in a matchup between the Fred Fox Division’s top two teams. The series gets underway this Friday, March 9th in East Hants before the Colts return home for Game 2 Saturday evening, 7:30pm at the Dartmouth Sportsplex. The remainder of the schedule will be announced shortly. Be sure to head to the rink to show your support for the boys.
